Welcome to the official site of the Townsville chapter of the Harley Owners Group.

The Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) was created in 1983 in the form of chapters that now span the globe with a collective membership of over a million Harley Davidson enthusiasts. The benefits of joining a chapter are many and revolve around sharing a passion for riding a legend of the motorcycle world, with folk who enjoy enduring friendships, socialising and just having fun. The chapters introduce new Harley owners as well as the more experienced Harley rider to a relaxed community of like-minded individuals.

The Townsville chapter commenced in 1992 and is located in tropical North Queensland. Our riding season is almost unlimited as Townsville is famous for its endless days of sunshine and open roads. A large range of entertainment and sporting activities cater to all tastes, quality establishments and restaurants, beaches, and much more all of which add as draw cards for an enjoyable riding visit to our region.

Townsville H.O.G. strives to uphold the values of H.O.G. as a non-political and family-orientated club, whose main aim as motoring enthusiasts is to share in the joy of riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. We are an incorporated association and uphold the H.O.G. Charter,  Rules of Incorporation and other relevant legislation.

Chapter meetings are held every month at various times at our local chapter rooms situated at the rear of SunCity Harley Davidson, 735 Woolcock street. 

The Chapters Social Bar is open Friday evenings from 5.30 pm for members and invited guests to come together.

Rides are done on a regular basis locally and overnight trips are arranged.

LADIES OF HARLEY

 

Ladies of Harley (LOH) is a program sponsored by the Harley Owners Group to support women motorcycle enthusiasts who may be either riders or passengers. It is not a separate organisation within H.O.G. but was established to encourage women to become more active in H.O.G. and their local chapters.

All Ladies who are members of the Townsville H.O.G. Chapter are, by virtue of that membership, members of LOH.

Townsville H.O.G. enthusiastically encourages women to join in on our events and come on our rides, although LOH members do not have to be riders. LOH membership is open to all female motorcycle enthusiasts and whether you are riding or a pillion – ladies are all welcome.

There are a lot of misconceptions about Ladies of Harley.

LOH is not a separate group from H.O.G. but simply an added benefit for female members. Once you have become a full or associate H.O.G. member you only need to fill in an application form to become a LOH member. There is no further cost involved even though you will receive many extra benefits, such as an embroidered LOH patch, a bronze LOH pin for each year of membership, you will also qualify to participate in extra programs such as ABCs of Touring and the H.O.G. Mileage Program just for starters.

While the LOH Officers and the members of LOH can organise events that may be more appealing to women, ALL members of the Townsville H.O.G. Chapter are welcome to participate.  Our meetings, scheduled events and shenanigans can be found on the Townsville HOG Facebook page and all other communication mediums that our club facilitates.

When an event is labelled ‘LOH.’ it does not mean that it’s for ladies only! All Chapter Members are always welcome and encouraged to attend and support LOH.

We truly hope that LOH. is where lasting friendships can be made, where laughter is heard, and where wonderful memories are made.

It’s where our ladies come together to share their common interest in Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
